Things I wish I knew before my first holiday flight |

Are you planning for your first holiday flight? Wondering how your experience will be? Luck for you, I will share my experience on my first flight. Although it was one of the best experiences, there are mistakes I wish I avoided. Holidays are fun, but without adequate planning, it can be very disappointing. I have been going for holidays by driving. However, last year I thought of taking a flight to a far place. Here are some of the things I wish I had known before the flight day. Booking earlyI booked my flight one week before the flight day. At first, I saw nothing wrong with that. In fact, I thought I had booked it very early. I was surprised to find out that most people had booked the flight over 2 months ago. What surprised me is that I had spent almost double the cost I would have spent by booking early. My advice; once you decide to go on vacation, start your search early. Make sure that you make your booking and paid your flight costs early. Document verification I left my home the same day I had a flight. Too bad, I was unable to verify my flight on time. I had to wait for the next flight. When travelling, you are required to verify your flight at least a few hours before the flight. I would advise you to be at the airport with the 24 hour advance period offered by most airports. It not only saves you time but also reduces the last minute rush. Book your car parking earlyHave you thought of where you will leave your car after taking your flight? I drove my car to the airport hoping to find parking space. Unfortunately, the parking lot was full of cars. You can imagine the stress of driving around looking for parking space. I wish I knew http://www.parking-at-airports.co.uk/ earlier. This website helped me locate and book for my car parking. Luckily, Parking At Airports has partnered with lots of parking companies offering the best airport parking services. Pack smartI didn’t know that people pack days before the flight date. I also didn’t have a packing list. Lucky for you, you can download a packing list template that will help pack everything you need for your holiday. These templates are detailed such that you can start your packing as early as 3 months before your day of flight. Communicate with your bankYou will be carrying your credit cards along. Unfortunately, they may end up failing you by not responding when you travel to a new place. This is as a result of security concerns. To avoid such disappointments, it is best that you communicate with your bank. Let them know that you will be using your credit cards at a particular time and place. These are just a few of the things I didn’t know when I went for my first holiday flight. If you are a first timer, it is best that you keep these things in mind. They may look small but can be very embarrassing if not handled correctly.
